DMT01: Ultra-High Precision Magnetorquer Controller

The EXA DMT01 (Dynamic yield MagneTorquer controller) is a new kind of magnetorquer controller that enhances the classical PWM approach to manage magnetic-based ADCS actuators by allowing the user to dynamically change (up or down) the voltage and current being fed to the actuator via digital control (I2C). It can be used with or without PWM to control the integrated MT01 magnetorquer.


In the DMT01/SP (Standard Precision) version, the user can select dynamically the voltage levels as 1V, 2V, 3V, 4V and 5V.


In the DMT01/HP (High Precision) version, it's the same as above, but the user can also feed a PWM signal concurrently from 1 Hz to 1100 Hz and from 1% to 100% duty cycle, allowing the MT01 to achieve a precision pointing accuracy of up to 0.01 (10E-2) of a degree and theoretically could achieve up to 0.001 (10E-3) of a degree with the right sensors.
